So I won a free ID smart tag for Max from a Facebook contest. I got the tag this week and have it all set up and Max is now wearing it.
I did some searching on where his microchip is from. His chip is from Homeagain.com. So with his new smart tag registered and his chip in his profile, he should find his way back to me if he got lost.
So I hope? Well, please contact your microchip company and verify your pet is attached to your info! I checked all my pets today by calling Home Again and having them verify my pets chips were indeed registered with them in the database that is accessed for finding all microchips. My dog Finn’s chip was registered thru Avid microchip co. and to the Vet office where he was neutered but to my name! Now fixed! So double check with your chip and Pet Finder service. I can see how pets get lost and not found cause their chip does not state any owner. Max’s chip is not registered by his former owner. So they had him for 8 years without the knowledge that he would come back to them if he was lost. Well in their case they probably would not have cared if he did indeed run away. Losers…………..
So Max, Finn, Candy, Oonagh and my kitties are all pointed to me if they are lost!!!!! It’s crazy that they all have different micro chip companies! Should only be one company to avoid any confusion!!!!!
